The Contigo Autospout Ashland is a 28 oz. water bottle with an integrated, fixed drinking straw. The spout opens with the push of a button, so there is no lid to remove when drinking, only for re-filling. It has a small "lock" switch ensure that the spout doesn't accidentally get pushed open, for example, when it's in a bag. The clip feature makes it possible to attach to a bag or chair, but it's also cup-holder friendly. The bottle is available in many colors and a smaller 14 oz. size.

I find this product relevant for:: Decreased fine motor control, Decreased coordination or balance, Difficulty swallowing
Other aspects of using this product to consider: : It can be heavy when filled.
Similar products to consider:: I also have the Camelbak Edy, but the straw in this bottle feels more secure- the straw in my Edy has fallen out while refilling it several times. Also the spout on that has fallen off.
The perfect bottle!

I bought this bottle after seeing it on here. The bottle is a great size for me, and the design is excellent in spite of its capacity. I don't need to be consistently refilling my glass! Drinking from a straw makes it easier for me to swallow.

Overall a good bottle

Jen uses the Contigo Autospout Ashland bottle (24 oz.) around 3 to 5 days a week, so it gets a lot of use. She likes that the spout is fixed and doesn't pull out (like a straw) when drinking from it. The bottle is slim enough for her to hold with one hand.

The button to open the spout can be difficult for her to push, and likewise, it is very difficult for her to push to close, so she often just leaves the spout open. If you knock it over when the spout is open, it shouldn't leak, but her bottle does a little.

Jen says that this bottle can be heavy for her to hold when it is full, but it does come in a smaller size. Overall, it is very sturdy and especially good when "on-the-go".
