I love these hooks. For me, they’re one of those little things that solve a very specific problem and end up making life a lot easier.
I have less than average strength in my skeletal muscles, which complicates some household tasks. One of those tasks is hanging up and taking down my shower curtain and liner, which is hard both because the rings can be difficult to open with the weight of the curtain and liner on them - especially if the metal becomes corroded - and because even if the rings do open easily, my arms get tired holding them over my head. Plus, if a single ring doesn’t cooperate - you’re out of luck!
In the past, I simply avoided this task at all costs. Then, I moved to rainy Oregon where mold is a force to be reckoned with! If I didn’t wash my shower curtain liner periodically, I’d have a whole ecosystem in there.
I’ve used these S-shaped hooks for about 6 years. Literally every time I take down or put up my shower curtain, I appreciate how much easier and quicker this task is than it used to be. I’ll never go back!
Pros:
- No assistance needed for set up (except maybe with removing the old rings)
- No maintenance needed
- Shower curtain and liner are very easy to remove and rehang, but are securely held while hanging
- Durable
Cons:
- These hooks are more expensive than regular curtain rings but I’ve found them to be worth the price
