The key "pro" about the self closing toothpaste caps are that you don't have to unscrew the cap before and after use. The first few times I used it, I tried to unscrew it and pull if off out of habit :) Not having to unscrew the toothpaste cap is such a pro because I often drop traditional toothpaste caps. 

Now that I have used them for a little while, they don't always come out exactly clean like on the Amazon video. I find myself running the hot water over the cap to get rid of any toothpaste left over. That way the next time I want to use it, there isn't toothpaste or especially dried toothpaste that prevents a controlled amount of toothpaste coming out when you squeeze. So I make sure there is no toothpaste left on the cap when I am finished.

Other than that, I can't think of any cons now that I have been using it for a while. And I just realized that because you get six in a package, we can put these caps on our travel toothpaste tubes!
