Karen shares how she uses this lantern during power outages, but we encourage you to think about how easy-to transport and use lighting can be useful in everyday (or night) life, too. Most notably, this lantern turns on by simply pulling it out - no buttons necessary, unless you choose to use the flashlight or emergency light functions.

PROS:

  • LED
  • 360 degree bright light 
  • 2 emergency modes
  • Flashlight mode
  • Water Resistant
  • 16 Hours Of Continuous Runtime In Lantern Mode, 9 Hours Runtime In Flashlight Mode

CONS:

  • Requires 3 AA Batteries (Hint: check monthly and consider Duracell Plus batteries, which have a 12 year shelf life)

My recommendation:

I strongly encourage the use of some type of emergency lights, ready for use and easily to locate, in the instance of a power failure. It may even be wise to keep on your mobility device like a walker or wheelchair. Battery-powered lights are always preferred to candles, due to inherent safety issues with open flames, even when small.
