These wall sconces are wireless, can be installed almost anywhere, and are controlled by a small remote. They are attractive and will go with almost any decor.

A good consideration is that with the remote you can turn on a soft light when needed, avoiding the need to get up from the bed or your seat in the dark and turn on a harsh light. The sconce demonstrated here has 3 types of white light, but other models support up to 16 colors, if you prefer to “set a mood.” Further, an automatic shut-off can be set from 15-120 minutes.

PROS:

  • No wiring or conventional batteries

  • Rechargeable light source 

  • May be placed anywhere

  • Only light source, not entire fixture, needs to be removed for recharging

  • Attractive, versatile design

  • Shut-off timer

  • Lighting source is an LED puck light with recharging port and on-off switch

CONS:

  • Tiny remote easy to misplace

  • No specifics on how long it takes to recharge

  • No “need to recharge” indicator

  • No mention of how long each charge will last

  • Rather than affixing the metal mounting plate to wall with screws, use 3M Command hooks or strips to mount this lightweight light fixture directly on the wall
  • Keep the small remote inside a clear cosmetic bag with strap or ID holder with lanyard and hang on your bedpost, walker or wheelchair to make it easy to find
