Mixed opinions
The product recommendation for the Fairy Fastener Bracelet Helper Tool was submitted to us by Stephanie as being a very useful tool for putting on a bracelet with decreased fine motor skills. She's used it for over 5 years, and it works great for her.
However, our team member Karen, who used a similar version but not quite as ergonomic version of a bracelet fastener made by Mission Gallery, was unable to use it. She explains why in her review and video. The ability to benefit from this tool will depend heavily on your own level of fine motor skills.
We've included both reviews for you, below. Please note that the device is intended to hold one side of a bracelet while you wrap it around and clasp it. It is not intended to open or insert the clasp for you.

Review submitted by Stephanie
- How long I've been using this product: 5+ years
- How often I use this product: A couple times a month
- My gut feeling: I recommend it for sure
- Why did you choose this product? When you are trying to look nice, not being able to tie your own bracelet really feels stupid and quite helpless. A lot of us need to be independent but trying to tie a bracelet one handed really puts your coordination to the test. This is a simple concept that can really help us all.
- What are its pros? This product is easy to use and it even came with picture instructions.
- What are its cons? Only one that I can think of: you need to be OK with holding it in one hand.
For an example of how this tool is meant to be used by a non-disabled person, watch this video. [Video by Fairy Fastener, not our video]
