Wheelchair Gloves

video review

Video description: Lisa shows you the bright orange and gray VGO leather gloves that she uses as wheelchair gloves along with the gray fabric gloves from the Dollar Store that she uses underneath.

intro

Lisa uses VGO leather gloves (advertised for working with chainsaws and heavy equipment) as her wheelchair gloves but shares her hack for putting simple Dollar Store fabric gloves underneath. Not only does this add warmth in winter, but she finds that it adds comfort year-round.

My overall “gut” feeling about this product:
I totally recommend using very simple fabric Dollar Store gloves under VGO leather “wheelchair” gloves. It really helps keep my hands warm, and I feel like it gives me better traction on my wheelchair push rims.
I buy a couple of the cheap pairs from the Dollar Store every year and have been using this method (putting these under my VGO gloves) for over 2 years. I use my gloves multiple times a day.
What makes this particular product accessible for you?
I think it gives me better attraction on my rims and I chose this product especially because it was a dollar store product. Although it probably cost more than a dollar but less than two Canadian dollars.
Pros of this product:
The pros are better traction on my rims, better protection for my hands. As the wheelchair gloves wear down, as they do over time, there is an extra layer underneath, and it’s a dollar store item readily available in the colder months
Cons of this product:
Sometimes the gloves will not stay inside my wheelchair gloves and it’s a little bit more involved to put both pairs of gloves on at the same time. And also sometimes the little gloves stick to the velcro of my wheelchair gloves.
