Stainless Steel Basket Strainer
video review
intro
We were looking for a boil-in basket to make pasta or other food without needing to eventually pour boiling water out of a pot (instead, just removing the basket with the pasta from the hot water when ready). Unfortunately, Ellie discovered that the piece of metal that hooks onto the pot gets very hot, and she worried about burning herself on it. She found another way to use the basket that didn’t risk getting a burn by scooping the pasta out of the water, but it wasn’t quite the solution she was looking for. This might still might be a good option for some, if pouring hot water is dangerous.

How long I’ve been using this product: A few days
How often I use this product: I don’t use this because I feel like it doesn’t do much
My gut feeling: Good idea but doesn’t work for me
Why did you choose this product? I wanted to see if I could find something to help strain food without dealing with hot water as much
What are its pros? The wood handle is nice and doesn’t get hot; there is a clip that fits right onto the pot so it does not move
What are its cons? The clip is metal and can get very hot so be VERY careful. The basket is small so you can’t really cook for a lot of people. I felt unsafe clipping this onto the pot because of how hot it gets. I did not want to accidentally burn myself, so I waited until the food was ready and then I used it as a scooper rather than just leaving the basket in the pot.
Other: I will not keep using this product

I don’t use this. It doesn’t feel safe because the metal can get very hot. I haven’t figured out how to use it safely, and the basket is small.
